It should be noted that this is a gallery of what is on my mind. That means there may or may not be any photos, if that is what you were expecting.

Web Authoring Secrets Revealed

Last week I talked about changes I have made to the site. First there's the top stories box on the front page. I meant it to be something to check everyday. However, it seems that the handler for the headlines doesn't update it everyday. In fact some headlines are still there since I first placed it on my site. What gives? They are supposed to be top stories. They are just the topmost headlines from other categories I could have used for the news section. I know all kinds of new newsworthy things are happening. They should put that in. I may just change the category I use to see which works best.

Next was the clock. Now this is something I'm proud of. I have no complaints about that. There's also that one last change I mentioned last week. I did not reveal what the change was to see if anyone would catch it on his or her own. I don't know if anybody actually did, so I'm just going to uncover it right now.

Click on this link and notice what happens. The next page opened in its own window. I went through all my pages and added this feature to any link that sends the surfer (you) away from my website. It wasn't hard to do. It was just long and tedious. Do you know how many pages make up my website? There are 18 in the 2001 archive alone! Now any link that goes to somewhere within my site (like the last one) still opens in the same window, with the obvious exception of the example I gave.

This change I thought of doing eariler, but I was at college at the time, and I was too busy. Now don't get me wrong, I'm busy now too with my internship and all, but I do have to fill 8 hours. Besides, last week I could not get started untill a CD-ROM from Maryland arrived by mail. I can't be playing games or anything like that. Anyway, I've been working hard since I received the CD-ROM. I have to get back to the grind (hey, last week's title!). Stay tuned and stay safe!

By the way, for those who are curious, here are some stats about my website. At the time of this writing, there are currently 29 pages and 29 graphics that make up my website. My website also had 268 hits this month with 11 from yesterday. My website takes up 773.5 KB of memory.
